This Calgary home, built in 1911, had been renovated at least two times prior to this renovation. Previous homeowners had gutted the house in the late 80s, putting an addition on the back to accommodate a new kitchen and additional bedrooms on the upper floor. Unfortunately, the "new" kitchen with its over-sized island, awkward placement of the pantry and appliances, dark granite and glass blocking made the room feel under-lit, cold and cramped. With Brenda's guidance, the clients' selection of all white cabinetry, tile and countertops, fanciful pendants, as well as the addition of a large window in the eating area opened the room up and transformed it into a thoroughly functional space.
